When you travel to the United States you may notice that it is normal to have mailboxes
outside the home - if you are in an apartment there will be rows of them at the entrance to the building, or if the house is in the suburbs the mailbox probably sits proudly at the edge of the roadway waiting for the paper boy to lob a newspaper at it - and usually he misses.  However, the tradition lives on and there are thousands of different designs to choose from.
