When you arrive in anew destination the array of different signs and notices can be quite overwhelming.  Somehow your eye is used to the style of the captioning service at your local airport or railway station, but in another country the notices can be daunting. To avoid making yourself obvious to potential pickpockets and scammers, stay calm and take your time.  Running around gesturing at the directions or shouting across to your travelling companion will just mark you out as a target.
