Places where the natural beauty has been preserved are always my favourite holiday destinations. I have been reading about the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a string of sandy barrier islands reaching out into the Atlantic Ocean. This was one of the first areas of the United States to be settled, and visitors have been enjoying its undisturbed beauty since the sixteenth century. Surrounded by 900 square miles of water, the islands’ estuaries are a haven for water birds. If quiet peaceful beaches are what you are seeking, check this area out.
