The Lake Country House Hotel is located in Powys near the village of Llangammarch Wells, in fifty acres of parkland, with sweeping lawns, rhododendron lined pathways and riverside walks. Excellent for dogs to walk and roam around the grounds, this is an attractive hotel that keeps a welcome in the hillside for you and your dog in your own room only and there is a charge of £6 per night for dog guests. Dogs are not accepted in the reception areas. http://www.lakecountryhouse.com

A pet friendly romantic hotel - I had to check this out! Dolserau Hall dates from 1860 and is set in the hills of Southern Snowdonia. The hotel commands panoramic views over the surrounding pastures to the hills across the valley. Dolserau hotel does not normally take children under ten, but well behaved dogs are welcome in the five coach house rooms, which have direct access from the car park. The hotel owners have a dog themselves, which is a plus. If you really want to get away from it all, this is the place - the driveway to the hotel is half a mile long! http://www.dolserau.co.uk/ (0)1341 422522

Lake Vyrnwy is a reservoir set in the middle of Powys, which is my favourite part of Wales. The Lake Vyrnwy hotel gives spectacular views of the lake and is equipped to a high standard. The dining room serves Modern British cuisine and you can enjoy a superb view of the lake and surrounding hills while you dine. Dogs are allowed in certain guest rooms but there is a charge of £10 per night for your pet to stay in the hotel. Otherwise dogs can stay in heated kennels in the hotel grounds! This hotel has Wifi internet access in most rooms. http://www.lakevyrnwy.com/
